The upgrade went smooth in the majority of areas I've checked, though there's a lot more checking to do, with the exception of the billing and support area. In version 11 cPanel made some undocumented changes in how an extension to PHP was loaded, and this just happened to be an extension (Ioncube) required by the billing/support system to run.
The billing system and client support area is back up and running, though there may be some intermittent unavailability, as the system is migrated to it's new permanent location (same server just a different domain), and where all services (the new website, support forums and hosting support center, etc) will be located...Hello World Web's new home. There may also need to be some further DNS tweaking.
This process involves a little more than transferring files to another directory, as IPs and SSL certificates are being switched, and DNS (for the IPs) takes anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours to fully propagate. Again, this has nothing whatsoever to do with the server IP, email or your website functionality. My business domain is the one being moved.
I'll make an announcement when the dust has settled and I've had a chance to verify all services we're accustomed to having, as well as all the new very slick goodies that came with cPanel 11 are working as intended. Until then, I'd like to request that unless it's an emergency (I.E.- the server is unresponsive and/or your website is down, email is down, etc), please hold off on submitting any support tickets for the next 2-3 days, and check this blog first if you feel something is amiss.
Thanks, and I hope you're enjoying the new interface! By some standards it's not much, but after so many years of using the old interface, this is quite a step up!
